Franco Baresi spent his entire 20-year career at AC Milan and is widely regarded as one of the greatest defenders in football history. He captained the club to six Serie A titles and three European Cups, and his number 6 shirt was retired by Milan in his honour. He was known for his reading of the game, his elegance on the ball, and his ability to organise a defence. He represented Italy 81 times.
