David Hockney

David Hockney was one of the most influential British artists of the 20th and 21st centuries. His sun-drenched paintings of California swimming pools became iconic images of the 1960s, and his "Portrait of an Artist (Pool with Two Figures)" sold for $90 million in 2018 — then the most expensive work by a living artist ever sold at auction. He continued painting prolifically on his iPad from his home in Normandy well into his 80s.
